In my pictures, the setting is fundamental. The environment not only surrounds the model but interacts with her, creating the characters and circumstances wich tell stories by means of this symbolic language. This imagery leads to the pleasure found in imagination, to reflection, the recalling of feelings and the awakening of everyday concerns.
By composing a variety of backgrounds, I intend to create worlds and to generate atmospheres that invite you to read the picture as you run your eyes over the elements arranged in order to enhace the symbolism of the image.
Largely, the art direction in my work is influenced by my background in architecture, design and photography. I intervene, mix and recycle various materials with wich I build my settings, the same way I supply the objects, accessories and garments in my photographs.
